Helibug, first to design World's first 46cc Gasser Conversion for Trex 700 / Trex 800

This kit is designed to convert Trex700/800 Nitro into Gasoline Powered Helicopter
using CY GP-460 (46cc) Engine

Designed for CY GP-460 Engine
Highly precise aluminum parts

Specially designed clutch mount to use Zenoah 54mm Clutch on this engine
All 3/16" (4.75mm) thick T6061 aluminum plates machined with very tight tolerances
Excellent Balance and Performance
No Vibrations at all with a stock engine
Slots for pinion block makes this kit to use any gear ratio from stock 8.2 down to 4.1 (from 14T stock pinion
up to 28T Pinion) without changing side frames
Available with 17T (6.76 Gear Ratio)
16oz fuel tank (goes under the nose of the helicopter - Bigger tank for longer flying time can also be used)
Lowest parts count
This kit uses all standard M3 screws (Included)
All required screws included with the kit
Engine preparation required to remove all the stock heavy clutch bell/clutch bell carrier, clutch and airfilter

All up weight is less than 15 lbs (6.8 Kg) !
All upgrades included

Excellent flying machine for multi blade setup

Basis of design on this setup is to use the Torque available on these engine and fly it with low rpm

As with any gasoline engine, it is highly recommended to use Balanced engines for smoother performance

Once Converted, this helicopter is around 1.25" higher then the stock Trex700.

Engine Preparation

Replace Throttle Linkage wtih Standard Zenoah RC Linage. Note that you will need a small cut on the RC Throttle linkage to lock spring

Stock spring loaded pull-start is really cool. it does not require any force to start the engine but, due to the size of this pull start, ground clearance is almost none.

If you want better ground clearance, you can change the stock pull-start with a after market conversion kit which will let you install standard pull start.

Conversion Steps Reference

Brief instructions for POWER 460 - very simple steps

Prepare Transmission

Note: open bearing side will face towards the clutch and pinion

Here's the upper transmission block

Here's how you will install the pinion bearing block. Easily adjust the backlash - remember, not too close and not to far from main gear. use a paper between pinion and main gear for best backlash setting

Once adjusted, mount the block with screws

Baseplate is in two identical parts - install it by removing the bottom screws from the engine

due to wider rear frames, you will need two new holes, just beside the stock location

Front frame mount

Rear frame mount blocks used from Trex600

Engine mounts right on the pinion block. Open-Source sits on the front frame mount on top of the engine

Strong concentric running transmission

Throttle plate mount location

Front frame sides

Rear frame sides

As mentioned above, replace stoc throttle linkage (left) with Zenoah RC throttle linkage (right). notice a small notch made on the throttle linkage for spring

replace stock throttle link with the one you prepared above

Final Looks (shown with 10oz fuel tank - kit comes with 16oz fuel tank)

WARNING: The radio controlled model helicopter built from this conversion kit is not a toy and is not meant for children. It is a flying machine capable of causing property damage and serious bodily harm to both the operator/assembler and/or spectator if not built and operated correctly and responsibly. Rotating components, especially the main rotor blades, are an ever-present danger. Model helicopters operate differently than model cars and airplanes. Helicopters by their nature are not positively stable, meaning that even if properly assembled and adjusted, helicopters will not recover from an unwanted flight attitude, nor will they hold any particular orientation without constant control inputs from the pilot.

IT IS YOUR EXCLUSIVE RESPONSIBILITY TO PROPERLY BUILD, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE HELICOPTER.

HELIBUG has spent considerable time making this product reliable and easy to build, but only the operator can insure that it is safe. Because the safe operation of this helicopter is beyond the control of the Manufacturer and distributor, the owner/operator assumes all risk of use.
